Everyone of you that believe the NYPD is infallible, is a fucking moron...I'm tired of ranting on Arthur's thread so i made my own...fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you too! Everyone of us works hard to live here, and we expect the same amount of courtesy and respect that we show them. And when it's your job, and your motto (courtesy, professionalism, respect), you damn well better be abiding by it!
If all you see in me, is a guy who hates cops b/c, he's gotten in trouble a few times, then you obviously haven't been paying attention. Take off the blinders you where everyday. Some cops may actually do thier jobs in the manner we would expect of them, but alot of them abuse their power, andcommit some of the same rule breaking that we, the civilians, get penalized for. I have alot of respect for the detectives, as they actually solve crimes and help people. It's the uniforms I have a less respect for, b/c they have damn well shown they don't deserve it. but I try to treat each one as an individual and not blame them for their comrades mistakes...but they make it really hard not too

a little late night, calmed down editing...should fit better, but I think I'll leave some of the language

Tell you what, I'll "take off the blinders" when you learn to use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Do you know what "infallible" means?

i do, but for your own use I give you Dictionary.com's def:

News flash...all detectives were once uniformed patrolmen.

I can imagine one would get bitter dealing with all the morons we have wandering around this city. Some are in it for the ego boost, but most are in it to have a good job, live a good life, and maybe make a difference. Experiences can change a person.

Cops are PEOPLE, just like all of us. We all have our bad days. If the city wants to hire a different caliber of cop, maybe it should pay better/raise the minimums to become a cop/etc. Posts like yours are not addressing the problem.

I know they once were, but they came from a different time.
If the city wants to hire a different calibar(you mean one that actually does their job and understands the difference b/w right and wrong?!), maybe they should try training and screening their recruits better

Infallible? You use that word, but I do not think it means what you think it means.

"...and we expect the same amount of courtesy and respect we show everyone else."

From the sounds of this post, you're getting EXACTLY the same amount of courtesy and respect you show everyone else.

i've had my fair share of annoyance with police departments in my (rather short) lifetime, but i have to say i've never seen a better force than the nypd. every time i've had to interact with an officer here they have been nothing but professional. they always seem to be happy and ready to help out. everything from asking for directions, evacuating an area, or even just being around them at events like the fireworks on the 4th of july i've yet to see an nypd officer behave badly. given the sheer size of this city, the threats it must come under everyday and all the loonies running around i'm in awe of how well things seem to function and how little crime there is given how much there could be.

this isn't to say that there aren't bad cops out there, i'm sure there are many, especially here, but you can't blanket a dept. of 30,000+ (i believe) officers for a few bad encounters. my stepdad is a detective in texas and was an officer and i know just how bad it can be. in fact, someone in my family was pulled over in dallas for no reason, put in jail for just under 6 months, and framed for possession of cocaine all by an officer. luckily it was caught on tape and now he's been released and is suing dallas and the officer, but the entire reason for it happening is b/c he isn't white.

i just don't see any merit in denouncing all of the nypd, especially if you're admitting that you've been in trouble before. if you break the law, you have to deal with the consequences. you can't cry out that cops break the law as well, that's just immature. we're all human, just follow the rules and you won't have to complain.

Both of your tirades are irrelevant in terms of what this community is for, and furthermore only serve to demonstrate immaturity and a complete lack of understanding of NYPD policy. If you want to bitch, rant in your personal journals instead of complaining to people who couldn't care less and will not take you seriously.

Everyone of you that refuses to believe the NYPD is infallible is a fucking moron.

How many negatives does it take to equal a positive? Way to negate yourself, genius.

ya, I just noticed that...
31st-Jul-2007 04:32 am (UTC)
Wow. Bitter much?
31st-Jul-2007 04:32 am (UTC)
It's a low blow but in light of this little rant I can't resist:

"last night i almost got ina nother fight with a cop(i fucking hate cops) after giving me a bogus ticket, i called him a faggo"

Yeah, you seem like the kind of person who commands a lot of respect from the boys in blue, don't you?

i have my moments, haha
