Stand up, New Yorkers!!
Trader Joe's in Queens!
22nd-Oct-2007 01:09 am
I was just over by the Trader Joe's in Queens and they have a sign up announcing the Grand Opening!  Save the date!  It's October 26!

You can get there via the Q23, Q54, Q53 and Q11 buses.  The E, F, J, R, V and G trains all connect to these buses.

Yup! It's on the border of Rego Park and Forest Hills. It might be at the border of Glendale too, since the Home Depot close by is in Glendale.

The cross-streets are Woodhaven Blvd and Metropolitan Ave.

I can't wait!

Thanks for the info, I've been waiting for this! =)

I was wondering where it was going to be, I knew it was FH but I didn't know the exact location.
Of course being selfish I wish I didn't have to take train+bus, it's bus+train to get to the one in Union square. I was hoping for one mode of transportation. ;)

I was told about this TWO YEARS ago and thought it must have been faulty information so I stopped paying attention. BEHOLD! Man, I am so excited. I wonder if there'll be a bouncer at this one regulating the flow of shoppers as there was at the Union Square TJs...

nice, hopefully it'll take some of the load off the manhattan location and there won't be an hour long wait any more?

Really! I heard it ws going to be Halloween but the 26th is even better. I'm excited. :)

It's to be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. I'm trying to find out if there'll be $3 Chuck, but I doubt it.

I drove by it yesterday and they still don't have the big illuminated sign up.

What is a $3 Chuck? Is that the wine?
22nd-Oct-2007 09:29 pm (UTC)
Yep, Charles Shaw wine. I think they have to have a separate storefront for wine/beer sales, which can't happen at the Queens store. *sigh*

Ahhh. The California ones have beer and wines in the same store, if I'm not mistaken. sucks.

The buses can also access the 7 train as well, just a longer ride (Q53 at Woodside).
22nd-Oct-2007 08:05 pm (UTC)
Yeah, you take the Q53 from 75 St and Broadway, just off the 7/R/V/E/F/G train stop at 74 St Roosevelt. It's only a short jaunt to Metropolitan Ave from there, I think 5 stops. And it's quick!

Hey-- random question.. Are you the Gelo who did a real deal review for Mezzo Mezzo? If not, just ignore me..haha.
22nd-Oct-2007 08:07 pm (UTC)
Yes I am. Where'd you read it at?
22nd-Oct-2007 08:10 pm (UTC)

SO excited! Now my pierogies won't be all thawed out and soggy by the time I get home.

Any word on if there will be a separate liquor store? I love their wine. My current favorite is the Bodega Septima Malbec - only $7, sells for $10+ at other stores.
